Warner Robins Police officers raised money during "Cops on Donut Shops" Friday.

The police department hosted its “Cops on Donut Shops” fundraiser at Dunkin Donut locations throughout the area Friday on National Doughnut Day.

We spoke with Captain John Clay about the importance of the fundraiser.

“It allows people with developmental disabilities to participate in different types of competitions, athletic competitions,” Captain Clay said. “And it helps build up their self-esteem. It shows they can do things just like everybody else in the world that they’re no different than everybody else.”

If you would like to donate or get involved with Special Olympics:

  • You can reach out to the Warner Robins Police Department and ask for Captain John Clay or Officer Greg Martin.
