WRALL Welcomed Home With Big Celebration

Tonight, the city of Warner Robins officially welcomed home their youngest bunch of hometown heroes. The Warner Robins All-Star Little Leaguers were honored at their field with a big celebration thrown by city officials.

“If we could have hit like we could, we could have won,” says Logan Williams, WRALL.

As soon as they got off the bus, memories of their Pennsylvania loss were distant. In fact, these boys became an instant hit.

“Everything is sinking in right now, you get to see all the people you love, and you get to see your family, and right now everything’s just perfect,” says Jake Fromm, WRALL.

At party to remember, these 14 young men, were welcomed home from the Little League World Series, by a huge crowd of supporters, Mayor Chuck Shaheen, and Major General Robert McMahon.

“And truly their sportsmanship have set an example, not only for the rest of this community, but for the literally millions of people who watched them play their hearts out every game win or lose,” says Maj. Gen. McMahon, RAFB.

McMahon gave each of them a gold coin, a huge military honor, but the boys say their biggest reward was this journey.

“Always wanted to come this far, never thought we could do it, but we just came this way as a team,” says Austin Burnett.

They may be off the field for now, but their ride together is far from over.

“We just bonded as a team we’re a band of brothers,” says Logan Arnett.

Coach Phillip Johnson says this was his first time in his seven years of coaching that he was able to bring the team to a World Series. He says he is proud of all of the hard work and success he has enjoyed with his players along this ride.
