WR Mayor Shaheen Presents 2012 Budget to Council
Warner Robins Mayor Chuck Shaheen says his proposed budget accomplishes what the city needs most; a sound fiscal plan, with cuts across the board. City council members are torn about the budget because of tax increases and now only time will tell if the budget will gain support.
“My concern is that we’re asking our tax payers to pay more money,” said Councilman Mike Daley.
In Mayor Shaheen’s proposed 2012 budget there is a .79 increase in the millage rate, a move that will cost the average household around $2.50 a month and will generate an estimated $2 million a year for the city. The overall budget is around $60 million and Mayor Shaheen says it will move the city forward.
