WR Company Profits Off Solar Energy

WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)-A Warner Robins company specializing in green cleaning products is taking their environmentally friendly business approach one step further.

Clean Control Corporation is now home to the second largest solar farm in the state.

Steve Davidson, President of Clean Control Corp., says he has always been interested in green technology. “I’ve just always been interested since high school in the solar aspect. We got a whole line of green cleaning products.”

That curiosity helped created an acre of solar panels. “It’s enough to power about 24 homes every year,” says Davidson.

The solar farm is another way for him to make money. “Everything that’s produced here we will sell to Flint, and they’ll offer it to the local home owners and businesses,” says Davidson.

For the next decade Davidson will have a contract with Green Power EMC, First Century Energy, and Flint Energies.

Executive Vice President of First Century, George Mori, says, “A lot of people don’t realize that Georgia is ranked 3rd in the US in solar energy potential.”

Davidson calls his investment in this project a  no-brainer,”the sun provides free electricity.”

It cost Davidson around $700,000 to get the project running. “The pay-off in the long-term is definitely beneficial,” says Davidson.

The goal is to give consumers an eco-friendly option when it comes to power. Mori says, “homeowners obviously have the choice of also purchasing solar for their homes as well to off set their own energy costs.”
