MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A Macon woman has been indicted in connection with a December stabbing at a personal care home, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

Tierrica Rutherford was indicted March 17, 2026, on a charge of aggravated assault for allegedly stabbing a woman she cared for at a Calhoun Street residence, according to the Bibb County Superior Court Clerk.

According to an incident report from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called December 19, 2025, to 1484 Calhoun Street in reference to a reported stabbing. When deputies arrived, they found the victim outside the home next door. The victim told deputies that Rutherford, who watched residents at the personal care home, entered her room and attacked her.

According to a report, the victim said Rutherford “just snapped” and used scissors during the attack. The victim said she was able to take the scissors from Rutherford and throw them outside. Deputies later located a pair of scissors in the street in front of the home.

The victim sustained cuts to her left hand, left leg and neck. Officials said the injuries were not deep, but visible blood was present.

Deputies attempted to make contact with Rutherford inside the home, but the doors were locked. A neighbor contacted the homeowner, who then instructed Rutherford to open the door.

Deputies spoke with Rutherford, who denied the victim’s account. Deputies reported seeing drops of blood on the floor inside the victim’s room.

According to the sheriff’s office, Rutherford later gave conflicting statements and initially refused to provide her name. She was taken into custody at the scene and later identified. The scissors used in the incident were collected as evidence.
