Woman dies after early morning crash in Hancock County

Troopers say the crash happened around 3:09 a.m. on Georgia Highway 22 near Beulah Road.

HANCOCK COUNTY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A woman died after a single-vehicle crash early Tuesday morning in Hancock County, according to the Georgia State Patrol.

Troopers say the crash happened around 3:09 a.m. on Georgia Highway 22 near Beulah Road. Investigators say a 2021 Dodge Charger was traveling east on Highway 22 when the driver failed to maintain her lane and left the roadway.

According to the Georgia State Patrol, the vehicle traveled down an embankment before striking a raised embankment and crossing a driveway. Troopers say the car then became airborne, began rotating and struck a tree before overturning onto its roof.

The driver, identified as 27-year-old Kiamber Janelle Usry, was transported to Navicent Health Baldwin, where she was later pronounced dead.

Authorities say next of kin was notified at the hospital.
