Willie Lee Parkway Expands Into Centerville

A new road connecting Warner Robins and Centerville is helping bring the sister cities together.

Willie Lee Parkway was extended past Kroger on Watson Boulevard into Centerville. Warner Robins Mayor Chuck Shaheen says talks about expanding the road began years ago. The project, funded by the 2006 SPLOST, officially got off the ground about 9 months ago. Shaheen says this new road will alleviate congestion within both cities.

“Between Warner Robins, and Centerville, it’s going to take a lot of traffic off 41 and Margie Drive, but it’s going to extend it from Watson Boulevard, all the way to Gun Road.”

Residents can expect to see new street lights, and a sound barrier between the homes within the next two weeks.
