‘Wild With Kyle’ Goes Face to Face with Whales and World’s Largest Fish

To begin this story, I need to let you know a secret about myself; deep water terrifies me.

I’m swimming with sharks, beluga whales, whale sharks, sting rays and manta rays at the Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta.

The first part of my adventure, brought me face to face with the four beluga whales at the aquarium. I was able to feed them, play games with them, and even wrap my arms around one for a photo-op.

The whales were very friendly creatures. They played, spit water at me, splashed me. One has even learned how to mimic the sound of a person who has eaten too many baked beans when you press on its forehead!

Once playtime with the whales was over, it was time to dive in the whale shark exhibit. The world’s largest fish looks big when you walk through the aquarium and see one swimming behind the glass. When you dive in the water and literally start bumping into them while you’re swimming, they suddenly appear much larger.

The whale sharks are about 40 feet long, and appear to be closely related to a school bus. Fortunately, the whale sharks did not want to taste me, they only wanted to swim directly up to me, scare the daylights out of me, and then swim away.

(I believe they were laughing while they were doing this over and over again).

After 45 minutes of swimming in the giant fish tank, it was time to climb out of the water and head back for home…and thankfully, all in one peice.
