Wilcox Receiver to North Carolina
ROCHELLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A Wilcox County wide receiver will spend his college years in the ACC.
Johnathan Howard Wednesday signed his letter of intent to head to the University of North Carolina.
Surrounded by family sporting Tar Heel colors, Howard decided to sign with UNC because he feels he’s got a good chance to get a lot of playing time.
“They were in a struggle with receivers, losing receivers here and there,” says Howard. “They were pretty short on the depth chart, so it gave me a good chance of going in and competing with the other freshmen that committed there.”
Howard says he chose UNC over Clemson. He says Auburn would have been his third choice. His cousin Nick Marshall committed to AU Wednesday out of a community college in Kansas.
