MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Georgia National Fair is celebrating 35 years of magic and will open Thursday.

Georgia National Fairgrounds & Agricenter Marketing and Business Development Director, Maggie Lane, says she is expecting more than 500,000 people at the fair this year.

Lane says there will be 20 new fair food items for the 3rd Annual Georgia National Fair Food Fight. There will be food vendors from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. each day of the fair.

The Georgia National Fair will host a free concert series which includes live music every day. Concert headliners include the Bellamy Brothers, Josh Turner, Ginuwine, and others.

There will also be livestock competitions each day that are open to all attendees. Lane says “this is a chance to learn about agriculture” and encourages everyone to check out the hard work that the youth has put in.
