Westside Neighbors United offers Hen House tour

MACON, Georgia(41NBC/WMGT)-  Westside Neighbor United is offering a self-guided tour this weekend for those who want to raise chickens and hens.

Those who attend will visit three to four locations of people who own hen houses to ask questions on how to properly care for them.

Naomi Rosan, Community Relations Advocate, says this will help a lot during the pandemic.

“Chickens are a positive to any environment, they turn our food scraps into eggs,” says Rosan.

One chicken owner, Brooklyn Stokes, says she loves to raise her own chickens and will be open to any questions.

Along with the tour, there will be a community resource fair to provide information on the hens and chickens. It will take place at 524 Bartlett Street in Macon.
