Westside High School student killed in car accident

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Students and staff members at Westside High School are mourning the loss of a fellow student.

17-year old Shi’Kemmia Glover died late Saturday in a car accident.

The Georgia State Patrol says the crash occurred Saturday night around 11:45 p.m. Glover and a female passenger were traveling westbound in a construction zone on GA-24, when she lost control of her 2006 Chevrolet sedan. The vehicle flipped several times and landed in a tree. Glover, who was not wearing her seatbelt, was ejected into a pond. She died from her injuries.

The passenger, who was wearing her seat belt, suffered minor injuries.

Grief counselors are on hand at Westside High School to support students and staff.
