Wesleyan College to offer AI-focused MBA concentration this fall
Selke believes teaching students the fundamentals of AI will properly prepare them for future employment.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Beginning in the fall of 2025, Wesleyan College will offer MBA contractions in artificial intelligence (AI), finance, healthcare, cybersecurity, business analytics and nonprofit management.
Professor of business Seth David Selke explains what motivated Wesleyan to bring the AI concentration.
“A lot of individuals are interested in AI, and a lot of organizations are interested in what AI means, how it’s going to impact their business, workforce, industry, so a lot of questions still remains on how AI will have some sort of impact,” Selke said.
Selke says this program will allow professors to break down AI step by step for students.
“You will have three courses that will talk about AI, how to use AI, implication of AI, ramifications of AI,” he said. “So it gives you that well-rounded picture of how you can use artificial intelligence inside the organization.”
Selke believes teaching students the fundamentals of AI will properly prepare them for future employment.
“I think a lot of organizations are looking for individuals to have that basic understanding of AI being it’s a new field, so we don’t really see a lot of experts in the field yet. A lot of organizations will hire individuals that have degrees in AI, because they want the experts inside the organization.”
Selke believes teaching AI is critical for this generation.
“Understanding all of the process involved, and AI tools and how we can train those types of tools, that will be key,” he added.”I think going through this program allows you the behind-the-scenes process to help you along the lines.”
Wesleyan is also focusing on hands-on learning and practical skills.
These new tracks will help students develop the expertise needed to thrive in today’s competitive business landscape.
