‘We’re in poor times’: Concerned citizens address Carter on rural hospital challenges
MONTEZUMA, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Candidate for state governor, Jason Carter meets with middle Georgia leaders to discuss the issues of their community.
Carter sat with house representatives, local mayors, and concerned citizens after touring the Fling River Hospital in Montezuma to talk in-depth about the state of Georgia rural hospitals.
Leaders brought up: hospital closings in the region, services remaining hospital offer and limited access and transportation to hospitals in their areas.
One concerned citizen says “we’re (rural citizens) in poor times” in regards to the limited access to a nearby hospital in case of emergency.
