Wellness Within Reach, Free Health Summit

With the holidays right around the corner it’s important to get in a healthy mind set as the temptations of bad eating approach.  A resource into the world of health is available for you November 1, the Central Georgia Regional Health Summit.  Community Health Works Director of Programs Kathleen Ashleyand Director of Communications Jessica Walden joined us Monday on the 41NBC news at 6pm with your invite.

The Central Georgia Regional Health Summit is free and open to the public. It’s a day for residents, community leaders and healthcare representatives who are concerned about health and making the community a better environment for wellness.

A keynote speaker from the CDC and Food Network star Ellie Krieger will be at the summit. There will also be a health fair with vendors and screenings available to you.

The Central Georgia Regional Health Summit is Tuesday, November 1. It will be held at the Edgar H. Wilson Convention Center (200 Coliseum Drive) in Macon from 8:30a-4pm. For more information call (478) 254-5200. To register visit www.chwg.org.

Community Health Works is rolling out the Veggie Van Wednesday.  Walden says it’s like an ice cream truck, but it will be filled with produce.  The van will go into neighborhoods in the area that don’t have fresh fruits and veggies at their fingertips.
