MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – With the weekend in sight, here’s a list of a few events happening across Middle Georgia this weekend.

Market in the Street returns Friday

Farmers Market

Forsyth’s popular Market in the Street is back this Friday at City Hall from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Browse fresh fruit, vegetables, honey, and natural or organic goods from local farmers. It’s a great way to support your community and stock up on wholesome products.

 

Poker Run for Young leukemia patient

Taz Run

Taz’s Poker Run will be held on Saturday at Harley-Davidson of Macon. Eleven-year-old William “Taz” is courageously battling leukemia for the second time, and all proceeds from the event support his medical expenses. Registration opens at 9 a.m. All street-legal vehicles—including motorcycles, Jeeps, classic cars, and trucks—are welcome. Entry is $30 per rider, $10 per passenger.

 

PAWS Animal Rescue fundraiser

Make a difference for local pets in need! PAWS Animal Rescue is raising funds to cover vet bills and food costs. Head to Splinters Axe House and Tavern on Saturday at 7 p.m. for food, drinks, music, and bingo. 100% of proceeds benefit the rescue.

 

Southern Rock Night at The Hummingbird

Savannah’s Wymberly brings Southern rock and jam vibes to The Hummingbird Stage and Taproom Friday night. The music kicks off at 9:30 p.m. and it’s just $5 at the door. Come early to grab a good spot!

 

Art & Sound Workshop at Artspace

Art And Sound

End your weekend creatively at Artspace Macon’s Art & Sound workshop on Sunday from 1-2:30 p.m. Enjoy art-making while bathed in the soothing sounds of crystal singing bowls. Supplies are provided, but you’re welcome to bring your own materials or journals. $40 per person.
