MACON, GEORGIA – (41NBC/WMGT) – On Monday, the three Week 10 Macon Touchdown Club players of the week were announced.

Back of the Week: Ty Hunnicut, Tattnall Square Academy Senior Wide Receiver/Defensive Back – five receptions for 210 yards – a new school record – and three touchdowns, while adding three tackles and an interception on defense.

Lineman of the Week: Anson Talcott, Tattnall Square Academy Senior Linebacker/Defensive Lineman – 20 tackles, a tackle for loss, and an interception, while on offense, Talcott graded out at 95%, with three pancake blocks, in the Trojans’ 28-17 win over John Milledge Academy.

The guest speakers for the night were Howard Head Coach Trey Porter and Covenant Academy Head Coach Clint Humphrey, both in their first year at the helm on their respective teams.

The honorary guest for the night was Mercer Head Coach Mike Jacobs, who not only praised the local club, but spoke about what kind of an impact the Touchdown Club has, and will have, on his team in the future.

“The commitment to the high school game, the commitment to Middle Georgia and the high school players, and what they do for the community” said Coach Jacobs Monday. “I think you saw it tonight, the attendance and the support, I think it’s tremendous that we can start, and we have a core group of guys that we can get right here in the Macon area, from Middle Georgia, because there is always going to be players that not only fit us football-wise, but will fit Mercer and the school’s mission. That’s just an added bonus. Over half of our roster are kids from the state of Georgia. Over 75% of our roster is High School kids still. So, we are trying to lay a strong foundation that is able to be carried over several years and not necessarily live in the portal.”
