Weather Forecast for June 27, 2014
Middle Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — Cloud cover may help keep temperatures lower, but overall, things will be seasonably hot today. Low 90s are expected for the afternoon highs, with lower temperatures likely in areas with greater cloud cover. Daytime heating and some instability will help form some thunderstorms, but we are not forecasting any widespread rainfall.
Going into the weekend, we see a similar pattern, but models are pushing warmer temperatures. We have thus increased afternoon highs this weekend, but I expect some of us may be a bit cooler tomorrow with mostly cloudy skies in some Middle Georgia areas. Rain and storm chances remain around 30 percent. Due to the unpredictability of pop-up storms, there is no way we can say with any certainty exactly where each storm will form. Just keep the chance for storms in the back of your mind and enjoy the hot weekend! Perhaps it’ll be a good time to leave early in the morning to take advantage of the beach out east.
