Weather Forecast for June 24, 2014
Middle Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — Storm chances are high again this afternoon, which will help keep temperatures down. Yesterday, we see large variation in the temperatures, from the mid 70s to the low 90s, so the high of 86 I’ve pegged for today is really the high I’d expect if it doesn’t rain in your area before the middle of the afternoon. If you get rainfall earlier in the day, expect temperatures to drop to the 70s and remain far cooler than average (we call that rain-cooled air).
Severe weather isn’t a huge threat today, although isolated severe storms are possible. CAPE is high enough for storms, but it’s not terribly high, and the wind shear is almost nonexistent. Is anybody complaining? Nah! Expect rainfall chances to moderate tomorrow.
