Weather Forecast for June 20, 2014

Middle Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — Heat indexes could reach over 100 again today.  This is due to the high temperatures (mid 90s) plus the humidity, which helps it to feel warmer outside.  With plenty of sunshine today, ridging in the jet stream, and only a couple storms around, there’s not much to keep things cooler.  I took a walk at 5 in the afternoon yesterday, and I will tell you this: I’m not sure if I want to try that again!

The official start to the summer is tomorrow, which looks very similar: hot highs, some storms in the area, but still overall maintaining the dry pattern we’ve experienced this week.  Sunday brings more moderate rain chances, and it looks like Monday will deliver us an approaching front and will start a rainier pattern for the week, with a wave of moisture entering the area and increasing rain and storm chances.
