Weather Forecast for June 11, 2014
Middle Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — A rainier pattern gives us more moisture today and tomorrow. A lower pressure system to our west and a southwesterly flow are currently bringing rainfall into the southeast, meaning we’ll see on-and-off storms and showers throughout the day. The potential for severe weather is pretty low, although I won’t rule out isolated severe storms with high winds and hail. Most of the storms will be your typical summer-like storms. Due to the cloud cover, rain-cooled air, and a trough moving through the area, temperatures will stay below average for this time of the year.
The chance for rainfall decreases somewhat by Friday, although there are still decent storm chances going into the weekend. Like today, isolated severe thunderstorms may be possible, but most of the storms will be typical summer-like thunderstorms. Models show temperatures increasing this weekend and early next week.
