Weather Forecast for April 25th, 2014
Warm and quiet for a few days, but then things get more complicated. For today, we just see increased cloud cover late morning with the possibility of a few showers or storms, but nothing significant. The skies clear this afternoon, and this weekend will feature much warmer than average temperatures with abundant sunshine. If you’re a fan of the heat, you couldn’t ask for a better weekend! I could use cooler temperatures, but for some reason, I’m feel like I’m in the minority on that one!
Next week, a large low pressure system moves into the southeast. This system features what looks to be a decent amount of rain (early estimates show 1 – 3 inches Tuesday and Wednesday, with rain possible later in the week as well). Another possibility — and I stress possibility, not guarantee — is severe weather, with CAPE (convective available potential energy) values from 750 – 1500 joules, enough to spark thunderstorms. With enough wind shear in the area, that could create severe weather. Again, that’s a possibility we see that we think you should know, so we’re not trying to blow it out of proportion. Keep it in mind while we continue to watch how things unfold, and enjoy your weekend!
