Washington County Gets Boys & Girls Club
SANDERSVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)-Children and teens in Washington County have a new place to visit this fall. Today, the Georgia National Guard Armory property was transferred to the city of Sandersville to be used for a Boys & Girls Club. The former National Guard Armory building was used as a recruiting office, but it will be Washington County’s first Boys & Girls club later this month.
The new Boys & Girls Club building is around 15,000 square feet and will provide more than a 100 kids with a place to learn and play. The building has a game room, education center, gym, and a teen center.
“To potentially provide opportunities to learn and grow for over a hundred children grades 2nd through 12th grade is a very rewarding and phenomenal experience,” said Kam Kyzer, Boys & Girls Club Executive Director.
The Boys and Girls Club will open up on August 20th.
