Warner Robins teacher one of 42 in the nation recognized for teaching excellence

WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A Warner Robins teacher is one of 42 teachers in the United States receiving a teaching excellence award from California Casualty.

Amanda Miliner is a fourth grade teacher at Miller Elementary. She will be recognized at the NEA Foundation’s Salute to Excellence in Education Gala this February in Washington, D.C. The Georgia Association of Educators nominated Miliner for the award. Five finalists will be given $10,000 cash awards and at the end of the gala, one finalist will be named the nation’s top education and given an additional $25,000. Miller Elementary will be receiving $650 from California Casualty.

Miliner is the only teacher from Georgia to receive this award this year. She was the 2015 Georgia Teacher of the Year and the 2013 Houston County Teacher of the Year.
