Warner Robins Ranked 6th In Nation As Fastest Growing City
WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The city of Warner Robins is ranked 6th in the nation as one of the fastest growing metro areas in the United States.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, from April 1st, 2010 to July 1st, 2011 the population increase in the city was 2.9%. Mayor Chuck Shaheen says this is the result of different entities having a plan and working together toward growth. Shaheen believes maintaining and building up Robins Air Force Base is one reason the area is expanding so rapidly.
“It’s the heartbeat of our community. It comes over into our city with our small business owners that we provide a service for the citizens of Warner Robins, but it’s a team effort, mayor, council, and our staff works hard everyday to serve the citizens,” says Shaheen.
Shaheen says a good health care system, a low crime rate, and the Houston County school system all add to the attractiveness of Warner Robins.
