Houston County sheriff confirms Warner Robins police officer shot, suspect in custody

He also said the police officer is on the way to a local hospital. She also reported that she was there as the Georgia Bureau of Investigation arrived.
WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)- The Warner Robins Police Department is advising residents to avoid the area of Redmond Street this morning as officers respond to a barricaded suspect.
According to Houston County Sheriff Matt Moulton, a Warner Robins Police officer was shot.
Police confirmed they are currently working an active scene involving a suspect who has barricaded themselves. While the investigation remains ongoing, officials said the scene has been secured.
According to the department, there is no immediate threat to the public at this time.
The department has not yet released specific details regarding the identity of the suspect or the nature of the initial call. Authorities noted that an update will be provided once additional information becomes available.
