Warner Robins police arrest woman, search for man after gun incident and vehicle pursuit

Officers responded around 1:15 p.m. Tuesday to reports of shots fired and a possible gunshot victim at 900 N. Houston Road

WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A Warner Robins woman was arrested and a man remains wanted following an aggravated assault and vehicle pursuit Tuesday afternoon, according to the Warner Robins Police Department.

Officers responded around 1:15 p.m. Tuesday to reports of shots fired and a possible gunshot victim at 900 N. Houston Road. When officers arrived, they spotted a vehicle matching the suspects’ description leaving the area. A short pursuit ended at Johnson Road and Gawin Drive when the vehicle left the roadway and struck a power pole.

The driver, 20-year-old Deja Howard, was taken into custody at the scene. The passenger, 18-year-old Akyshaun Robinson, fled on foot, police said. Investigators later determined that no one was injured during the original incident.

Police said Howard had driven Robinson to the complex, where Robinson got into an argument with a 25-year-old man. During the dispute, Robinson allegedly pointed a firearm at the man and fired a shot into the air before fleeing with Howard in the vehicle.

Howard is charged with reckless conduct, felony criminal damage to property, felony fleeing and attempting to elude, and reckless driving. Warrants have been issued for Robinson on charges of aggravated assault, criminal damage to property, possession of a stolen firearm, and fleeing and attempting to elude.

The Warner Robins Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division is continuing to investigate. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Elizabeth Smith at 478-302-5380 or Macon Regional CrimeStoppers.
