Operation Reawaken in Warner Robins continues with largest demolition yet
Warner Robins Mayor Larhonda Patrick says this event highlights the city's ongoing investment in growth, renewal, and economic opportunity. This demolition marks the largest to date totaling 17,823 square feet.

WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Warner Robins held a demolition event at Commercial Circle on Tuesday as part of Operation Reawaken, an effort to develop the city’s downtown area.
Warner Robins Mayor Larhonda Patrick says this event highlights the city’s ongoing investment in growth, renewal and economic opportunity. This demolition marks the largest to date totaling 17,823 square feet.
“The area that’s behind me will likely be two stories high, maybe even higher,” she said. “We’ll have some retail at the bottom, and the top you might see some office spaces or office suites, or some residential properties.”
Patrick says this project has been a long time coming, and locals already have requests.
“The number one thing requested is a Whole Foods!” she said. “A lot of people say they want outdoor dining. They want to have a space cut off from traffic, so kids can run around and play. Have some good green spaces, have some rooftops, spaces for pets to play, biking, skateboarding, and scootering.”
She says residents want to see a safe and nice city.
“They want to live here in Warner Robins, but we’ve got to provide the stock that gets their attention,” she said. “Not just the younger generation, but people of all ages. They want the downtown living experience, and this is going to be that symbol for our city.”
Warner Robins councilman Charlie Bibb says this project is also beneficial to surrounding areas.
“We’re looking forward to seeing what this does to not just this area, but the surrounding area,” he said. “It’s going to be impacted because of what we’re accomplishing by developing a downtown. So many people talked about this, but we are actually doing what it takes to get this done for the community of Warner Robins.”
Mayor Patrick says by next year, they will have a developer selected, and they will present the timeline for construction.
