Warner Robins Native Excited About Performing on “The Voice”
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A middle Georgian is on the national stage competing in NBC’s hit show “The Voice.”
Jacob Poole is competing in the brand new season of the show and he’s made it to “Team Xtina” being coached by superstar Christina Aguilera.
When you’ve been singing since you were five, and you’re good….
You might have a once in a lifetime opportunity like Jacob Poole.
The Warner Robins native had been singing with his band at his father’s church before trying out for the show. He went through 3 grueling auditions before he was picked.
“I was in like the 12th, the group of twelve people, and then I sang, sat down at the end of the 12th person, she said Jacob, I want you to stay back out of all of the 12, so I was the only one who stayed back,” Poole said.
Then he was off to Los Angeles and sang in front big time NBC producers.
“They loved it, I had people in there bobbing there head, it was cool, I saw Mark Burnett kind of get into it, either way an experience to know that these types of people at the push of a button could change your life,” Poole said.
And after that it was time to face the judges in the four big red chairs.
“The crazy part is you walk out and the chairs are turned backwards, so a lot of people think ‘oh he’s not looking at the coaches he’s not that nervous or it’s not that nerve wrecking. Red chair, green chair, whatever the chairs are turned around, but you know who’s sitting in the chair,” Poole said.
Nervous or not….Jacob performed…and one judge turned around immediately.
“To have somebody like Christina say she loves everything about your voice, it’s powerful because just listen to her voice, to hear my voice and for her to say the same thing, it’s pretty powerful it’s amazing,” Poole said.
Now Jacob’s looking to head to the next round and make middle Georgia proud.
“I’m ready to be represented and shown to the world, I feel like the best package of me is right now.”
Jacob’s next test will be in the battle rounds, he’s headed back to Los Angeles at the end of month.
And you can catch “The Voice” on Mondays at 8 pm and Tuesdays at 9 pm on 41NBC.
