UPDATE: Police believe man caused Warner Robins Valentine’s Day murder-suicide

WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Warner Robins Police Department believes 41-year-old Christopher Hankinson shot 45-year-old Angela Polk before killing himself.

Investigators said the evidence collected at the scene and the results of the autopsy leads them to believe both died from a single gunshot wound to the head.

The couple died in a home on Tyson Glen Drive on Valentine’s Day.

A news release from the Warner Robins Police Department says officers responded to a home on Tyson Glen Drive around 11:20 p.m. after receiving a call about a domestic dispute involving a gun. Officers tried to get in touch with the people inside the home, but they couldn’t.

A SWAT team entered the home and found 41-year-old Christopher Hankinson and 45-year-old Angela Polk dead on the floor with gunshot wounds.  Officers found a gun near the bodies.

“When we are called to a domestic dispute and we can not make contact with those inside the home, it is routine for us to bring our SWAT team out. Residents probably saw our BearCat out there. That is just for the protection of our officers, our SWAT team members and the surrounding community members,” said Jennifer Parsons, a spokeswoman for the Warner Robins Police Department.

Parsons said the two victims were a couple. Investigators believe Hankinson was the shooter. Autopsies for both victims are scheduled for Tuesday.

The Warner Robins Police Department is still investigating this shooting.
