WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Warner Robins Mayor LaRhonda Patrick is taking on a new statewide leadership role. She has been elected as Director at Large for the Georgia Municipal Association’s 2025–2026 term.

Mayor Patrick was officially sworn in during GMA’s annual convention held in Savannah in June. The Mayor says she believes the honor is a reflection of the progress Warner Robins has made.

“It’s just because of all the great things we’re doing in Warner Robins,” she said. “Warner Robins is in the best shape it’s ever been as a city. We have great initiatives that’s getting worldwide attention. All our statistics are showing up well and we’re doing great with economic development and impact. So, all of these things contributed to him paying attention to Warner Robins and this city, and what council and I are doing.”

As Director at Large, Mayor Patrick will assist the GMA board in implementing policies, advocating on behalf of cities and supporting efforts to strengthen local governance through training and networking.

“And to see that my work here and passion I have for my city has been recognized by the head person at GMA, it really does speak volumes,” the Mayor explains. “When you look to see people that have made it to that point, usually they’re having successful terms before they get there. So, for us to be in the running and in the minds of GMA, it means more than I can ask.”

Mayor Patrick feels she will make a difference, saying she brings a different perspective.

“Middle Georgia hasn’t been recognized on that stage, in those rooms, and on those board rooms, to talk about things impacting our cities and our states,” she emphasized. “To me, Warner Robins is a uniquely positioned city that’s growing tremendously, but growing smart.”

The Mayor says she’s looking forward to helping cities grow, just like Warner Robins has under her leadership.

“Reach out and help other cities that may be smaller than us, to reach some of their goals and share some things we do here in Warner Robins,” she said. “I know it’s going to be very impactful—not just for Warner Robins but for many cities throughout this state from the unique perspective I’m going to bring to the board.”

Mayor Patrick says this new position will not interfere with her role as Mayor.
