Warner Robins man sentenced to prison after aggravated battery conviction

A Warner Robins man has been sentenced to prison after pleading guilty to an aggravated battery charge in Houston County Superior Court.

WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — A Warner Robins man has been sentenced to prison after pleading guilty to an aggravated battery charge in Houston County Superior Court.

According to court officials, 50-year-old Anthony Dwayne Boyer pleaded guilty to aggravated battery on June 1, just before jury selection was scheduled to begin in his trial.

A sentencing hearing was held June 5 before Judge Amy E. Smith. Prosecutors and Boyer’s attorney presented arguments regarding an appropriate sentence.

Following the hearing, Judge Smith sentenced Boyer to 20 years, with the first 10 years to be served in prison.
