WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A Warner Robins man was sentenced to prison after pleading guilty to felony shoplifting, according to Houston County District Attorney Eric Edwards.

According to a news release, 58-year-old Dwayne Eugene Jackson pleaded guilty March 19, 2026, to 13 counts of felony-grade theft by shoplifting.

Jackson was sentenced to 20 years, with the first 11 years to be served in prison without the possibility of parole. At the time of the offenses, Jackson had eight prior shoplifting convictions.

The conviction stems from Jackson stealing numerous power tools and other items from the Lowe’s on 13 different occasions during October and November 2025.

The news release states that Lowe’s loss prevention investigators discovered the thefts after reviewing surveillance footage, with the assistance of the company’s facial recognition software, which led to Jackson being identified as the suspect.

Lowe’s shared its findings with the Warner Robins Police Department, whose officers reviewed the surveillance footage through law enforcement and social media databases.

The investigation revealed that Jackson, on 13 occasions between Oct. 20, 2025, and Nov. 16, 2025, entered the store in one of two vehicles, occasionally multiple times in the same day. Jackson used a similar method each time: he entered the store, obtained a trash can or large tote, went to the power tools aisle, placed the tools inside the container and exited without paying.

Officers executed a search warrant at a residence on Holt Avenue and found Jackson hiding in a bedroom, where he was taken into custody. Numerous stolen items from Lowe’s were recovered during the search, according to the news release.

Senior Assistant District Attorney Mike Smith of the Houston Circuit D.A.’s Office released the following statement:

“The Houston County District Attorney’s Office would like to thank the Warner Robins Police Department and the Lowes Loss Prevention Team, for their collaborative efforts in bringing this career criminal to justice. The Office would especially like to highlight the efforts of Investigator Matthew Chittenden (WRPD) and Investigator Allison Singletary (Lowes). Our local businesses should feel free to operate in our community without having to worry about criminals terrorizing their stores. The District Attorney’s Office remains committed to protecting the community from career thieves.”

Houston County District Attorney Eric Edwards released the following statement:

“This case is not about a single incident of shoplifting—it is about a repeat offender who made a habit of stealing from the same business over and over again. Thirteen separate thefts in less than a month, on top of a long history of prior felony convictions, demonstrates a complete disregard for the law and for the businesses that serve this community. Organized, repeat theft like this has real consequences. It drives up costs, impacts employees, and undermines the ability of businesses to operate safely and successfully. Our office takes that conduct seriously, especially when it is committed by individuals who have repeatedly been given opportunities to change their behavior and have chosen not to do so. I appreciate the work of the Warner Robins Police Department and the Lowes Loss Prevention Team, as well as the prosecution of this case by Senior Assistant District Attorney Mike Smith. The sentence imposed reflects the defendant’s history and sends a clear message that career theft will not be tolerated in Houston County.”
