Warner Robins Little League Concession Stand Vandalized

WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A concession stand at a Little League park in Warner Robins was broken into earlier this week for the third time in just a few months, according to Patrick Chiappetta, president of the Warner Robins American Little League.

Chiappetta said staff arrived at the park for cleanup after recent storms and discovered a broken window and a damaged security door.

“Someone sent me a picture, and I rushed over immediately. I knew it was probably related to the first incident because, in 20 years, we’ve never had a break-in at this ballpark, and all three incidents have involved this same window,” Chiappetta explained. “We added more safeguards, which hopefully slowed them down, but it’s frustrating. You take steps to prevent it, and they just take it to the next level, causing more damage.”

While nothing was stolen in this break-in, Chiappetta said it still impacts the league’s ability to benefit the kids.

“It’s frustrating this time. I’m really disappointed. We don’t get paid here, so we’re not personally losing money. But the money we could be putting back into the kids is affected. Although nothing was stolen, now we have to replace a window that wasn’t part of our improvement plan. It directly impacts the kids, and that’s what frustrates me the most,” he said.

Chiappetta has contacted law enforcement regarding the incident and hopes for a resolution soon.

“This time, they dusted for fingerprints, but it came back that the suspects were wearing gloves. So, we’re at a bit of a standstill,” Chiappetta said. “We don’t have any camera footage, but we’re working on installing that now as part of additional safeguards. Unfortunately, that wasn’t part of our improvement plan, as we prefer to focus on things that directly affect the kids. But sometimes, you just have to do what you have to do.”

Warner Robins Detective Juan Garcia confirmed that the case is still under investigation.

“I recently learned that there was a break-in at the park last year, with two incidents just days apart. However, we were unable to identify the individuals responsible,” Garcia said. “We don’t know if this incident is connected to the previous ones, but it will be thoroughly investigated. If suspects are identified, they will be questioned.”

Anyone with information about the break-in is urged to contact the Warner Robins Police Department at (478) 302-5378.
