Warner Robins Group Wants Change
The group ‘Citizens for Better Government’ held an informal meeting today inside the Houston Mall in Warner Robins to discuss what they call, the current discord within the Warner Robins city government.
The group’s organizers are hoping to increase community awareness by giving people a chance to speak and listen to one another.
Citizens for Better Government will hold an open meeting on Tuesday, January 18th at 3:30p.m. in hopes that the discussions will open the lines of communication between citizens, and current elected officials.
The purpose of the meeting is to openly, and politely, address the city’s reputation, government, and ability to attract new business.
Ron Street, owner of Street Home Medical, says discussions like these are needed to help bridge the gap between citizens and elected officials.
“We found out it does work,” he says. “Peole do make a difference. Our elected officials will listen if we can talk to them.”
The non-partisan group will have an agenda with speakers on what it plans to discuss. They say the meeting will not be an open forum for everyone to speak, but people will have an opportunity to write down concerns and issues.
