Warner Robins Gets 4 New Police Officers, 4 Firefighters Get Rare Award

WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The International City has four new police officers.

The group was sworn in Monday at the Warner Robins City Council meeting.  Ashley Williams, Riley Sims, Jeremy Christensen and James Shorter all took their oaths to serve and protect the city of more than 68,000 people.

They all thanked their families for supporting them throughout their police training and said it was an honor to be a part of the WRPD.

Firefighters Recognized for Saving Man’s Life

Also Monday, four firefighters were presented a rare award for saving a man from a fire at Arrowhead Trail back in May.

Lieutenants Wayne Nelson and Larry Warren, Engineer Randy Willis and Firefighter Taylor Howell all got the Letter of Valor.

It’s just the fourth time the award’s been given since the 1970s. 

In his closing comments, Mayor Chuck Shaheen took time to thank the city’s officers and firefighters for their service and for helping to protect the city.
