Warner Robins Firefighter Wins Rookie of the Year Award

WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) -Isaac Garcia, of the Warner Robins Fire Department is receiving statewide recognition for his hard work.

He will now be recognized by Nathan Deal at the state capitol next year as Georgia’s Rookie of the Year Firefighter.

“You want to be the best at what you do and work hard because I think this is one of the best jobs around,” Garcia said.

His fire chief, Robert Singletary spoke volumes about Garcia’s attitude.

“Anytime you see Isaac he’s smiling, so that’s a good thing. That means he enjoys coming to work,” Singletary said.

This is the second year in a row Warner Robins provided Georgia’s Rookie of the Year.

Garcia is honored with the award, but humble.

“I don’t think I’m better than the person next to me, or you or anybody else, we’re all here to work together so it’s a team effort,” Garcia said. “I did receive the award but it’s not just me, without the help from the other guys I wouldn’t be who I am.”
