Warner Robins Community Still Waits for Mail Deliveries
WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Old man winter may be long gone, but last week when icy roads and thick snow covered Middle Georgia the United State Postal Service delayed thousands of carriers from delivering mail.
According to the United States Postal Service (USPS) public information officer, Stephen Seewoester, on an average week in Warner Robins, the community receives about 73,000 pieces of mail. Due to the past weather conditions the city only saw 38,000 envelopes and packages.
Seewoester believes the company did its best to make deliveries under the weather circumstance.
“If we have the mail, we will deliver it as long as it’s safe for us to do so. For the letter carriers that go out, if they find it unsafe condition, they will hold that mail and the next possible day that they can deliver it, they deliver it,” says Seewoester.
Seewoester added the best way to ensure your mail is delivered on time is by using the express mail option.
