Families can register for free Christmas toy store at Warner Robins church

Families can register online to receive a $75 voucher for free Christmas gifts for children.

WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – As the Christmas season ramps up, a Warner Robins church is helping families in need by opening a toy store that offers free gifts for children.

Pastor Tolan Morgan of Fellowship Bible Baptist Church says the toy store idea came from staff after learning many families needed help following the government shutdown that lasted more than a month.

“It was just us having the heart of God to just do something,” Morgan said. “A lot of times it’s not so much responding, reacting, it’s being proactive. To just know that this is something people could benefit from.”

To attend the store, families can go to FBBCHOME.ORG and register. Once registered, they can go to the church and receive a $75 voucher to purchase gifts. Pastor Morgan says the toys were donated by the community.

“What you see is a product of people’s generosity, their liberality, and members of our church made donations,” Morgan said. “People from the community made donations, and all that you see is just the practical liberality of our people.”

He says it’s always important to give if you can, especially at this time of year, and adds he’s happy to be a part of something that will make Christmas brighter for families.

“We continue to be a church that impacts the community,” he said. “Churches all around the world do things every day to impact their community, and we always want to be a part of that. And we always want to be intentional to express the heart and love of God to people, not just in our church but outside of our church.”
