Veterans Warhawks look to regroup after disappointing 2014
The Warhawks started 2014 going winless in their first six games, before winning three games to close out the regular season. Despite their record, Veterans reached the playoffs, only to be ousted in the first round by Cairo.
The offense averaged just a shy over 15 points a game. They were shutout twice and kept to under 10 points five times. 2015 will be shouldered by 6’3″, 230 lbs. quarterback Logan Byrd, who has already committed to the North Carolina Tar Heels once his high-school career is over.
Meanwhile, the defense struggled and allowed nearly 30 points a game. Coach Bruce feels the key to improving his team’s overall numbers is to simply remain consistent game in and game out.
The Warhawks play their first game versus Houston County on August 27th. The home opener is September 4th against Macon County.
