Vandals deface Confederate statue in downtown Macon
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A statue in downtown Macon is one of the latest targets on a growing list of acts of civil protest.
Wednesday, county crews were at the Confederate monument on Cotton Avenue and 2nd St. removing the graffiti.
Vandals spray-painted ‘How offended are u now?’ and ‘#BLM’ on multiple areas of the statue.
Also, a nearby yard sign reads ‘Stop killing us’ on one side and ‘end racism now’ on the other.
