Valentine’s Day Sales Up This Year

If you’re looking to spend a little extra on that ‘special someone’ this year, sales indicate you aren’t alone.

According to the National Retail Federation, spending is up almost 11% this year compared to last year. The N.R.F. estimates that total holiday spending this year will reach $15 billion.

Cards are expected to be one of the biggest sold items this year, with an estimated 1 billion being given out. And according to Daphne Benjamin, a card is the perfect way to tell her husband of 26 years how she feels.

“I’m looking to find the right card that says the right words. You have to find the right words to say. And then you can find the gift later…Just knowing that he’s gonna know that the card is meant from the heart,” she says.
