MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – More than 400 students at Central Fine Arts and International Baccalaureate High School are taking part in a two-day empowerment experience focused on generative AI.

Usher’s New Look, in partnership with IBM, is hosting sessions on December 9 and 10 centered on Creating Your Elevator Pitch Using Generative AI through IBM SkillsBuild. The training is designed to help students define their personal brands and confidently communicate their value.

The sessions, held throughout the school day, provide hands-on learning opportunities. Through IBM SkillsBuild, students gain access to free learning resources and the opportunity to earn IBM digital credentials that can be added to resumes and LinkedIn profiles.

Tony Betton Jr., Director of Programs and Communications for Usher’s New Look and an alumnus of the program, said the goal is to help students recognize their talents and learn how to express their value as they prepare for future opportunities.

Organizers say the partnership with IBM combines technology and personal branding to help students continue learning beyond the classroom. Usher’s New Look says plans are already in discussion to return to the district in the future.
