UPDATED: Warren Lee Hill Executed
The state Pardons and Paroles Board denied him clemency. His attorneys have argued for several years that Hill should not face the death penalty because of mental problems.
Hill was serving a life sentence for killing his girlfriend, when he killed another inmate in 1990.

ATLANTA, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The state’s highest court denied a stay of execution for death row inmate Warren Lee Hill.
In a five to two decision, the Supreme Court of Georgia ruled Hill’s execution is still scheduled for next Tuesday. The court also ruled it will not hear any appeal by Hill who is arguing he cannot be executed because of his alleged “intellectual disability.”
Hill was sentenced to death in 1991 after a Lee County jury convicted him of murder for killing a fellow prison inmate in 1990.
Hill is scheduled to die by lethal injection Tuesday, January 27 at 7 p.m.
