UPDATED: Macon man shot, killed in Pendleton Homes apartment complex

News release from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office:
“An arrest was made today in the homicide of 29 year old Javoris Butler, of Macon, that occurred on Tuesday July 21, 2015 in Pendleton Homes. The US Marshal’s Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force along with the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office learned through the investigation, the location of Steve Anthony Fort, who was wanted for the murder of Butler.
The US Marshal’s Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force in Virginia was notified that Fort was at a location in the Suffolk Virginia area. The task force located and arrested Fort without incident at around 3:30PM and will be transported back to Bibb County. Steve Anthony Fort is charged with homicide, kidnapping and armed robbery.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A Macon man was shot Tuesday night. Javoris Butler, 29 years old, was visiting with friends outside an apartment at 3401 Houston Avenue, in the Pendleton Homes complex. He was shot by an unidentified male around 11:06 p.m., as reported to officers.
Butler was transported to Medical Center Navicent Health. He was pronounced dead by Medical Center Doctors at 11:43 p.m. The next of kin was notified.
The Bibb Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident. Bibb Sheriff’s investigators are still questioning witnesses. There is no further information on the suspect at this time.
