UPDATE: Warrant issued for donation jar thief

WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Warner Robins police have issued a warrant for a man who stole a donation jar from a restaurant on Sunday. 

Investigators have identified the man as 24-year-old Daryl Thomas from Florida. Proceeds from the donations are going to five-year-old Matty Hancock who’s battling a rare blood disorder. 

JoAnn Sulak, the manager at Jus’ One More, says Thomas called her and asked what he could do to fix the situation. Sulak says she won’t press charges if the man decides to give the jar back.

Along with returning the jar, Thomas has to apologize to Matty and his mother at a fundraising event at the restaurant this Sunday, as well as hold a sign in front of the building asking for donations for an hour and a half. 

Warner Robins police say they haven’t been involved in any conversations between the two and are asking for Thomas to turn himself in. 

The fundraiser for Matty Hancock is this Sunday, January 25 at 4:00 p.m at Jus’ One More located at 4993 Russell Parkway, Warner Robins, GA 31088.
