UPDATE: Suspicious Death in Eastman an Apparent Homicide

EASTMAN, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – An Eastman man was found dead in his home and investigators are now calling it an apparent homicide.

A family member found Gregory Giddens’ body in his apartment at the corner of Page Street and Sixth Avenue Saturday night. Assistant Special Agent in Charge of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Eastman’s Office Todd Lowery said they do not know the time of death but believe it happened late Friday night into Saturday morning.

Giddens’ neighbor Patricia Hill described the 50-year-old as loving. She said his death is not only shocking, but scary.

“It frightens me because it happened right here at home where I live,” Hill said.

The GBI and the Eastman Police Department are investigating the case. The cause of death has not been determined. Giddens’ body was sent to the GBI state crime lab for an autopsy.
