UPDATE: State rules Sparta police station fire as arson

SPARTA, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Georgia Insurance and Fire Commissioner Ralph Hudgens ruled Wednesday morning’s fire at that heavily damaged the Sparta Police Department and a store as arson.

The fire happened around 4:30 a.m. at the Sparta Beauty Supply store. It then spread to the police department.

If you have any information, you’re asked to call the Arson Hotline at 1-800-282-5804. You could be eligible for a reward up to $10,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of an arsonist. Calls are taken 24 hours a day and you can choose to remain anonymous.
