A large water main break is rerouting traffic in downtown Macon.
Gallons of water are spewing out the break on Riverside Drive near Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. Deputies are on the scene slowing and rerouting drivers to avoid the area.
Bibb County Sheriff’s Lt. Randy Gonzalez says drivers coming off of I-16 are being rerouted to Coliseum Drive to Emery Highway and down Spring Street if they want to get into town.
Crews are still on scene trying to turn the water off in the area. The Macon Water Authority says it will take several hours to repair the break.
