UPDATE: Second arrest made in East Macon homicide
Bibb County Sheriff’s patrol deputies arrested 25-year-old Antwan Denard Johnson around noon Sunday in a hotel room at the Discovery Inn, located at 4604 Chambers Road. Deputies were responding to a Crimestoppers tip.
Johnson was arrested and charged with armed robbery and murder. He also had outstanding warrants from an unrelated case for the charges of Battery Family Violence, Terroristic Threats and Acts and Cruelty to Children in the 3rd degree. Johnson is being held a the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center without bond.
42-year-old Ulysses Pitts was shot multiple times in his McCall Road home in the early morning hours of January 7.
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – One of the suspects wanted for killing and robbing a man in his East Macon home Wednesday is in custody.
Sherod Ranardo Holston turned himself in to Bibb County deputies Saturday morning at 10:30.
Holston had warrants for his arrest for the murder and armed robbery of Ulysses Pitts. He was also charged with violation of probation. No bond has been set.
Investigators are still looking for 25-year-old Antwan Denard Johnson of Macon.
Both suspects are accused of shooting 42-year-old Ulysses Pitts inside his home on McCall Road. They also stole an undisclosed amount of money.
According to Bibb County jail files, Holston is 5’6″ and weighs 140 pounds. Johnson is 5’10” and weighs 170 pounds.
Sheriff David Davis released the following statement:
“Our community can be grateful that Bibb investigators have identified suspects within 48 hours of this senseless crime. Robbing and murdering an individual in front of a 10-year-old and a 13-year-old only shows how merciless and ruthless these suspects are.”

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A Macon man is dead after he was shot multiple times inside his East Macon home, that’s according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.
Lt. Randy Gonzalez tells 41NBC the incident happened at 1074 McCall Road around 6:58 a.m. Wednesday.
The victim, 42-year-old Ulysses Pitts, was found with several gunshot wounds to the chest. Gonzalez says other family members were inside the home during the incident.
Pitts was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead at 7:49 a.m.
Bibb County sheriff investigators are interviewing possible witnesses and crime scene investigators are working the scene.
